I tried to make my mom breakfast this morning and ended up burning the shit out of the cream of wheat, so instead I made her a SECOND breakfast of a bagel egg sandwich. So in the end, it all worked out. I also made her a card at the fancy Silver Tea we went to yesterday (complete with GLITTER GLUE and STICKERS) and cleaned up after our big mid-day lunch/dinner so she wouldn't have to.
A few reasons my mom is awesome: she basically came with me down to Mexico in a huge rain/thunder/lightning storm to go birding for two hours in a downpour, she always gets me small presents on Halloween and Valentine's Day, she'll do my laundry for me if she sees that I'm overwhelmed with other things, she bought me a new bird guide when mine got stolen, she'll day drink with me, she watches 20/20 and 48 Hour Mystery with me and together we form an opinion on whether the alleged murderer is guilty or not, she loves all pets I end up bringing home, even if she pretends she doesn't, and genuinely cares for their happiness, she makes delicious peach cobbler, and she will always listen to my problems and try to come up with solutions to help me feel better.
